Last week, prior to the public opening of the Chicago Auto Show, I was able to attend media day. One of my favorite days of the year since there is so much open access to cars, media events, and of course complimentary danishes and cappuccinos. Who doesn’t love that?

I’ll be posting more photos from the show in a separate blog post, but the one car that absolutely stood out to me at the show was the one I photographed here: The 2017 Sauber/Alfa Romeo Formula 1 car.

I’ve photographed F1 cars before, on track and from afar in the paddock, but never so up close and personal like this. It was a real treat for me to take my time exploring the details of the car, and getting pics I’ve always wished I was able to get.
